AddieCakes began as a bespoke baking service that quickly turned Desert Mountain into Dessert Mountain. We are thrilled to be expanding and now offer our custom creations to the nearby community as well.
All items are made to order, from scratch with the finest ingredients. It’s pretty much 100% DIY around here; just me in the kitchen, doing what I love to do the most—scratch baking and sharing the cookies and cakes. My next step is capturing an iPhone image to be used on my social media or as a future item in the online shop. A sunny day always helps.
Fortunately, Steven has my back. He is my talented friend and long-distance collaborator, who designed, built and maintains this website. He also has the important (and sometimes challenging) task of keeping me on track with deadlines when I am knee-deep in flour. You can read more about him below and be sure to check out his website.
I grew up in a family of women who cooked and baked. My grandmother, mother and aunt were the keepers of a wonderful American culinary tradition, which I am very happy to continue. I've always loved baking, being around other bakers and fascinated by the science behind it all that makes it work. I love experimenting with flavors and finding the best ingredients and taking full advantage of bounty of seasonal ingredients that are locally available.
We don’t indulge on a daily basis, which is why I have developed recipes that refrigerate and freeze well. A brownie, bar or bundt cake served whole or crumbled, topped with store-bought ice cream and finished with a sauce is a fabulously simple solution anytime, or for a last-minute dessert for an impromptu party.
Since we started a little over two years ago, we have enjoyed an enthusiastic welcome, gathered a loyal following and continue to grow.
