AddieCakes began as a bespoke baking service that quickly transformed Desert Mountain into Dessert Mountain. We are thrilled to expand our offerings, bringing our custom cakes and creations to the nearby community.
All items are made to order from scratch using the finest ingredients. It’s essentially 100% DIY around here—just me in the kitchen, doing what I love most: scratch baking and sharing my cookies and cakes. My next step involves capturing an iPhone image for social media or as a future item in the online shop, and a sunny day always helps.
Fortunately, Steven supports me as my talented friend and long-distance collaborator. He designed, built, and maintains this website while also helping me stay organized with deadlines, especially when I'm knee-deep in flour. You can read more about him below, and be sure to check out his website.
I grew up in a family where women cooked and baked. My grandmother, mother, and aunt were the keepers of a wonderful American culinary tradition that I am excited to continue. I've always loved baking, connecting with other bakers, and exploring the science behind it all. Experimenting with flavors and sourcing the best ingredients, while fully utilizing the seasonal bounty available locally, is a joy.
We don’t indulge in sweets every day, which is why I’ve developed recipes that refrigerate and freeze well. A brownie, bar, or bundt cake served whole or crumbled, topped with store-bought ice cream and finished with a sauce, is a wonderfully simple solution for any occasion or last-minute dessert for an impromptu party.
Since starting a little over two years ago, we have enjoyed an enthusiastic welcome, gathered a loyal following, and continue to grow.
